Viva Energy chair Robert Hill announces retirement

The news: Energy refiner Viva Energy has announced the retirement of its chairman, Robert Hill, effective 1 March, after 10 years with the company. Sarah Ryan has been appointed as the chair elect.
The company has also appointed Alistair Bell as an independent non-executive director, effective 1 March.
The context: Sarah Ryan is currently a non-executive director of Transurban, Aurizon Holdings and Calix, and a former non-executive director of Woodside Energy. She has over 30 years' experience across the international energy industry and is a fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering.
Alistair Bell has more than 30 years of executive experience in international commercial and financial leadership roles. He most recently served as group chief financial officer at Metcash and Graincorp.
What they said: "I am retiring with the commercial business performing strongly. The refining business is now well places in the years ahead. And the building blocks are in place to complement our traditional businesses with Australia's largest and best convenience offer," Hill said.
