Wesfarmers' WesCEF subsidiary MD Ian Hansen to retire
The news: Wesfarmers has announced that Ian Hansen, managing director of its subsidiary Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy and Fertilisers (WesCEF), will retire in November.
The numbers: Hansen, who joined WesCEF subsidiary CSBP in 1983 as a chemist, has served as managing director of WesCEF since 2017.
The context: Hansen will be succeeded by WesCEF's chief operating officer Aaron Hood, who is also director of the Covalent Lithium joint venture.
Wesfarmers said Hansen will remain with WesCEF and Wesfarmers in an advisory capacity to ensure a smooth transition and provide ongoing support on key projects, including the group's lithium business, where he will remain chair of Covalent Lithium.
What they said: Wesfarmers managing director Rob Scott said: "Aaron brings strong commercial acumen together with technical expertise in relation to the WesCEF and Covalent operations.
"I look forward to working with Aaron in what is an exciting time for WesCEF, with a range of major opportunities in the well-established chemicals, energy and fertiliser businesses, and the continued ramp up of the Covalent Lithium project."
