Westgold awards Perenti unit Barminco with $200m mining contract
The news: Gold miner Westgold Resources has awarded Perenti's mining business Barminco with a three-year underground mining contract at its Great Fingall mine in Western Australia.
The numbers: The contract is valued at around $200 million, with the scope of works including mine development, production and associated underground mining services. Work is due to begin next month.
The context: Westgold said Barminco was selected for the contract after a competitive tender process, due to the company's safety processes, mining efficiency and track record of delivery.
