Westpac appoints NZ chair Philippa Greenwood to board
The news: Big four lender Westpac Banking Corporation has appointed the chair of its New Zealand business Philippa Greenwood to its board as an independent non-executive director.
The numbers: Greenwood is expected to join the board on 1 August, subject to regulatory approvals.
The context: Greenwood is current chair of Westpac New Zealand and chair of dairy business the A2 Milk. She is also non-executive director of health equipment manufacturer Fisher & Paykel.
What they said: "Pip is a highly regarded and experienced non-executive director, and was one of New Zealand's leading commercial lawyers before commencing her non-executive career," said Westpac chairman Steven Gregg.
"Pip's skills and experience will further strengthen the board and complement the skills of existing directors," he said.
