Westpac CFO Michael Rowland to retire in 2025
The news: Westpac has announced that its chief financial officer Michael Rowland will retire next year.
The context: Rowland joined the banking group as CFO in September 2020, after senior roles at ING Australia, ANZ and KPMG, among others.
Westpac said Rowland will remain in his position while a search is undertaken for his successor.
What they said: "Michael has played an important role in the financial management of Westpac since the disruption of COVID-19 and has been instrumental in establishing Westpac's strong position," said Westpac CEO Anthony Miller.
"During his tenure, he's seen the company through a significant business transformation, maintained a robust capital position and overseen consistent, sustainable returns to shareholders," he said.
