Westpac names Carolyn McCann as acting consumer banking head
The news: Banking major Westpac says Carolyn McCann will take over as the acting head of its consumer banking unit next month, following the exit of incumbent Jason Yetton.
The numbers: McCann, who is currently Group Executive for Customer & Corporate Services, will take her new position effective 12 May.
The context: Westpac said McCann will be seconded to lead the consumer division while an external search is underway for a permanent replacement for outgoing division head Jason Yetton. The bank announced in March that Yetton would leave after more than 20 years in senior executive roles at Westpac.
“Carolyn is a customer-focused leader who empowers her people to act. She will bring this focus to the Consumer division while we continue the search for a permanent chief executive,” Westpac CEO Anthony Miller said in a statement.
