Whitehaven Coal director Raymond Zage to retire from board

The news: Whitehaven Coal non-executive director Raymond Zage will not stand for re-election to the board at the company’s next annual general meeting on 30 October.

The context: Zage has been on the board since August 2013 and has served on the audit and risk management committee.

The Singapore-based investor is the founder and CEO of Tiga Investments and is also a non-executive director of Indonesian real estate developer and hospital group PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk.

Zage is also a senior adviser to Farallon Capital Management and the investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board.

What they said: “Ray has made an important contribution to Whitehaven over 12 years. His deep expertise in investment and financial markets has significantly enhanced board deliberations, particularly in the areas of capital allocation and capital management,” Whitehaven chair Mark Vaile said.
