WiseTech appoints Zubin Appoo as CEO
The news: Logistics software giant WiseTech Global has appointed Zubin Appoo as its permanent chief executive, replacing interim head Andrew Cartledge who stepped up in October 2024 after co-founder Richard White resigned amid personal controversy.
The context: Cartledge, who had been chief financial officer since September 2015 before moving into the interim CEO role, will retire at the end of calendar year 2025 as previously announced.
While he remains with the company Cartledge “will be working on a number of key projects that draw on his specific skillsets” and to support Appoo where needed.
Appoo previously worked at WiseTech between 2004 and 2018, culminating in his service as head of innovation and technology.
Since then, he worked as chief technology officer at InLopp, chief technology officer at NAB business HICAPS, and most recently as CEO of online marketplace Find a Carer, before rejoining WiseTech in April this year as chief of staff and deputy innovation officer.
Co-founder and former CEO Richard White vacated the position in October as he faced lawsuits and controversy relating to his personal relationships.
At the time it was announced he would later be appointed to a full-time consulting role but was eventually appointed executive chair in February and chief innovation officer in April.
