The news: Oil giant Woodside Energy has reported a record full-year production, exceeding guidance, even after a slide in fourth-quarter output due to weather impacts and lower east-coast demand.
The numbers: Woodside delivered 2025 production of 198.9 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe), topping the company's guidance range of 192-197 MMboe.
Q4 production of 48.9 MMboe was down 4% from Q3. Woodside's average realised quarterly price of USD57 ($81) per barrel was down 5% on Q3, reflecting lower oil-linked and gas pricing.
Unit production costs of USD7.8 per barrel came within its guidance range of USD7.6-USD8.1 per barrel.
The context: Woodside's acting CEO Liz Westcott said the production result was driven by "sustained plateau production" at its Sangomar field in offshore Senegal, and its Pluto LNG project in offshore Western Australia operating at 100% reliability for the second half of the year.
