Woodside unveils senior leadership restructure
The news: Oil and gas major Woodside Energy has announced a revised leadership structure as part the company's strategy to "thrive through the energy transition".
The context: Woodside said the new structure would take effect from 1 August, with the aim of aggregating and elevating core business activities into a simplified operating model.
Key elements of the revised leadership structure include bringing all project execution and operational activities under two regional executive vice president (EVP) and chief operating officer (COO) roles, one for Australia and one for international.
The move would also integrate all traditional and new energy growth and opportunity capture activity, including exploration and M&A, into one business group, and elevate corporate strategy activities to a single EVP role.
Current international operations EVP Shiva McMahon and projects EVP Matthew Ridolfi will depart the company, while new energy EVP Shaun Gregory will continue at Woodside in the role of adviser to the CEO.
The executive leadership team (ELT) will comprise EVP and chief financial officer Graham Tiver, EVP and COO Australia Liz Westcott, EVP and COO international Daniel Kalms, EVP and chief commercial officer Mark Abbotsford, EVP technical and energy development Julie Fallon, EVP strategy Andy Drummond and EVP external affairs Tony Cudmore.
The company also announced two new additions to the ELT, Ruth Lyall as senior vice president (SVP) for human resources and Rebecca McNicol as SVP for legal and group general counsel.
What they said: Woodside CEO Meg O'Neill said: "We are fully integrating Woodside's traditional and new energy business across our value chain to support ongoing delivery of the affordable, reliable and lower-carbon energy out customers need for the energy transition."
"We are also consolidating operations and project delivery in a regional model to drive a strong focus on safety, efficient decision making, and effective business execution," she said.
