An exasperated Anthony Albanese did not expect to spend his last day before a week-long holiday dismissing questions about the Australian Parliament Sports Club (PSC).
David Pocock, the former Wallabies captain and independent senator, was booted from the club after criticising its acceptance of a donation from Responsible Wagering Australia, a peak lobby group representing betting companies.

Albanese is president of the PSC, which was briefly listed on the lobbyist register.
“That's David Pocock being David Pocock, getting himself in a story,” Albanese told reporters on Friday.
