Even if the timing does raise an eyebrow. On Wednesday, Albanese told reporters that Trump had agreed to the meeting “some time ago” but gave no further detail.
One former government source, who didn’t wish to be named, told Capital Brief that any suggestion a meeting was already on the cards before this week is “absurd”.
