Fresh from publishing the country’s new national principles for AI data centres, Industry Minister Tim Ayres told Capital Brief in April he was targeting more deals with hyperscalers.
But state and local authorities are increasingly being forced to balance their contribution to a national — and possibly generational — economic opportunity against the immediate needs of their residents.
