One of the great cross-party friendships of recent years was between Anthony Albanese and former treasurer Josh Frydenberg.

According to Frydenberg, Albanese is personally responsible for the deaths of 15 innocent Australians in last month’s Bondi massacre.
Those close to the prime minister say Albanese was staggered and angered by the accusation and is now convinced his old friend, who lost the seat of Kooyong in the 2022 election, is raising his profile ahead of a political comeback.
