They have been the Liberal Party’s go-to pollster for more than two decades, but CT Group — formerly Crosby Textor — is now on the outer with Opposition Leader Peter Dutton.
The association of the firm and its co-founder, Mark Textor, with the Voice campaign has heightened emotions on both sides.
Textor, a director of Yes23, last month angered Coalition MPs when he declared on Facebook there was “no electoral benefit in being a No wrecker” — which was widely interpreted as a reference to Dutton.
Capital Brief can reveal that Dutton recently told colleagues that he lost faith in Textor’s judgement some time ago but that his position has strengthened since the “debacle" of the Voice campaign.
