Leading criminal law barrister Tim Game SC will lead the historic prosecution of Ben Roberts-Smith for war crime murder when the case eventually reaches trial in about two years.
Capital Brief has also learned that the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) has engaged another highly regarded crime silk, Simon Buchen SC, to handle the bail application set down for next Friday.

Roberts-Smith has not settled on his legal team, but it will likely be marshalled by Karen Espiner of Hugo Law. Jordan Portokalli, also of the firm, represented Roberts-Smith at the first mention of the case on Wednesday.
Roberts-Smith used four senior counsel over the course of his defamation case against Nine, but none is likely to suit up for the murder trial.
