Albanese is responding to the new tariffs at a press conference right now, doubling down on his Future Made in Australia plan and promising support to hard-hit industries.
In his announcement this morning, Trump singled out Australian beef imports, claiming the US "imported $3 billion of Australian beef from them just last year alone" but "they won't take any of our beef". Albanese responded by saying his “understanding” was that tariffs on Australian beef would be 10%.
