Who better to sing the praises of prediction markets than Clive Palmer?
The mining billionaire was in his element on Wednesday evening, when Sydney-based futures exchange FEX Global hosted a seminar on prediction markets in Sydney, with former ASIC deputy chair Daniel Crennan KC as MC.
The peg was the Farrer by-election to be held on Saturday, for which One Nation candidate David Farley is heavily favoured.
A screen showed fictional trades that allowed punters to buy $1 of a Farley “buy yes” for 83.33c. The “no” dollar for Farley cost just 25c.
The second favourite, independent Michelle Milthorpe, was trading at a “buy yes” of 24c and a “no” of 79c.
