Speedie settlement
The TPG scandal that’s not staying NDA’d.
Good morning.
A fortnight on and the AFR has put a number on a payout that bought the silence of TPG’s former finance man Rob Speedie. An $8 million exit package (up from an opening offer of less than $300k). Funny what a draft affidavit and “over 300 texts” will do.
This time the allegation isn’t the drinking and drugs. It’s that Speedie, parachuted in to dress Novotech for sale, was allegedly pressured to "come up with” the right numbers before a stake sale to GIC and Temasek. Novotech categorically denies all of it.
And Thickins? TPG’s Asia co-head fronts Waverley Local Court tomorrow morning over the five-car prang and two refused breath tests, still on paid leave. Quite the vintage.

Shares in 4DMedical fell almost 9% on Friday despite winning Therapeutic Goods Administration approval for its CT:VQ software, clearing the way for immediate commercialisation across Australia. The decline comes after the lung-imaging company had rocketed roughly 1700% over the past year.
