The Big Tech work from home crackdown is ramping up

Tech companies embraced remote work with a fervour. Now Amazon has joined Tesla, Meta and Apple in demanding employees return to the office.

If you're one of Amazon's 300,000-plus corporate employees, you'll be coming to the office three times a week — or else.

That was the thrust of comments made to Amazon staff last week by CEO Andy Jassy, Business Insider reported on Tuesday. After decreeing in February that employees should be working from the office at least three times a week, Jassy is evidently working to make that goal a reality.

"It's past the time to disagree and commit," Jassy reportedly said during an internal meeting last week. "If you can't disagree and commit, I also understand that, but it's probably not going to work out for you at Amazon.

"It's not right for all of our teammates to be in three days a week and for people to refuse to do so."
