In his own words: Chief Justice Stephen Gageler
Capital Brief interviewed the High Court chief justice at the Australian Legal Convention.
Capital Brief sat down with the chief justice on the sidelines of the Australian Legal Convention which was held at the High Court, in Canberra on 20-22 November.
The discussion traversed his ambition for the Council of Chief Justices, some of early sessions, and the distant possibility of High Court hearings being live-streamed.
It followed an earlier discussion between Capital Brief and the chief justice in July.
The following transcript has been lightly edited for length and clarity.
What do you hope to achieve with the legal convention? Or is 'achieve' the wrong word?
