Nine’s acting CEO is working with regulator on inquiries as workplace issues mount
SafeWork NSW's inquiries, which the Nine board is confident the company will satisfy, adds to two live workplace matters at the company.
Nine Entertainment’s acting CEO Matt Stanton is steering the company's efforts to satisfy the regulator responsible for workplace safety at its Sydney headquarters, after staff allegations made earlier this year triggered a months-long probe.
Inquiries were first made by SafeWork NSW in June, just weeks after News Corp publications revealed that former TV and current affairs executive, Darren Wick, had been the subject of a workplace complaint in January this year, sparking a wave of subsequent allegations.
“SafeWork NSW inquiries are still ongoing in relation to work, health and safety issues at Nine Entertainment,” a spokesperson for the regulator told Capital Brief. “No further comment can be made at this time.”
Stanton, who has been Nine’s acting CEO since Mike Sneesby vacated the role in September, has been leading the company’s engagement with SafeWork NSW, according to a source familiar with the matter. So far, the board is confident the company will satisfy the inquiries, the source said.
