Regal’s latest index inclusion play is a bet on a Pro Medicus peer
One year on from the Opthea debacle, the Sydney hedge fund is backing medtech Artrya, which it thinks is on course for the ASX 200 and a $1 billion market cap.
Like many chief executives, the co-founder and CEO of Perth-based medtech Artrya insists he isn’t fixated on his company’s share price, even though it has been on a run for the ages. At least not completely.
“I think we’d be foolish to say we don’t look at the share price,” John Konstantopoulos told Capital Brief.
“But that doesn’t drive how we run the business.”
The stock, which counts Phil King’s Regal Funds Management among its largest institutional shareholders, is up 420% over the last 12 months, compared to a 0.7% rise for the broader market.
That surge has swelled its market capitalisation to $880 million, putting major index inclusion within reach.
