Adairs names Trent Peterson as chair, adds ex-T2 Tea CEO to board
The news: Homewares retailer Adairs has named interim chair Trent Peterson as its new permanent chair.
The context: Peterson has served as the company's interim chair since September 2024 and was the non-executive chair of Adairs from 2010 until the company's IPO in 2015. He is a non-executive director of three other retailers: dusk Group, Shaver Shop Group and Universal Store.
Adairs has also appointed Rachel Kelly as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect. Kelly held senior roles at apparel retailer The Just Group between 2007 and 2013, before serving as global CEO at speciality tea store T2 Tea between 2014 and 2016. She later served as an executive vice president at buy now, pay later lender Afterpay from 2017 to 2022.
Former Country Road boss Elle Roseby started as Adairs' chief executive in January, following the resignation of Mark Ronan last September.
Adairs operates a chain of nearly 200 stores across Australia and also owns the Focus on Furniture and online-only brand Mocka.
