AMP appoints Jackie Cleary as chief financial officer
The news: AMP has named Jackie Cleary as its new chief financial officer, effective 20 July, succeeding acting CFO Adrian Ryan.
The context: Cleary brings over 25 years of financial services experience spanning Australia, the US and the UK. She most recently served as managing director and head of financial institutions at Jeffries Australia and previously held the role of managing director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
The company said Cleary is tasked with leading all of AMP’s financial activities. Her responsibilities will cover financial control, statutory and regulatory reporting, corporate strategy and investor relations.
The appointment finalises the AMP executive leadership under new CEO Blair Vernon, who was formerly CFO until ex-CEO Alexis George stepped down in March.
What they said: “This appointment supports the continued strengthening of our finance function as we execute on our existing strategy, maintain prudent capital settings and deliver consistent outcomes for our shareholders,” Vernon said.
