Aussie-founded fleet transition app closes US$10m funding
The news: An Australian-founded electric vehicle management software firm has secured USD10 million ($15.5 million) in Series A funding. EVenergi's BetterFleet platform consolidates decarbonisation transition planning for fleet managers by automating vehicle and charger selection, utility infrastructure sizing and optimising operational planning.
The numbers: The series was led by green-focused asset manager Aligned Climate Capital, which chipped-in USD5 million, according to Axios. BetterFleet has supported the decarbonisation of 60,000 vehicles globally across 200 fleets, according to EVenergi.
The context: Public and private sector entities in industries including transit, logistics, municipal government and utilities in many countries have committed to decarbonising their vehicle fleets, in many cases by 2030.
What they said: "We saw a gap between sustainability goals and the realities of operating vehicle fleets in the shift to zero emissions," EVenergi founder and Daniel Hilson said in a statement. "Transitioning to EVs is too costly and complex, and our software simplifies the process while decreasing costs.
