Clarity Pharmaceuticals shares rise after first patient imaged in AMPLIFY trial
The news: Clarity Pharmaceuticals rose at the open after it reported it had imaged its first patient for its phase three diagnostic trial in participants with biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer.
The numbers: Clarity shares were up 3.26% to $2.22 at 10:33am AEST.
The context: The first patient in the AMPLIFY trial was imaged at a prostate cancer care and research centre in Nebraska just over a week after the study was initiated. The diagnostic Cu-SAR-bisPSMA is designed as a prostate specific agent for the detection of cancer.
The phase three registrational trial aims to gather enough evidence to complete a New Drug Application with the US Food and Drugs Administration required to undertake sale and marketing activity.
The AMPLIFY trial was announced in November 2023 and will enrol about 220 participants across the US and Australia.
What they said: “With prostate cancer prevalence increasing year after year, we look forward to overcoming limitations of the current-generation PSMA PET diagnostics, such as sensitivity and accessibility, making earlier and more accurate detection of recurrent disease a potential reality and bringing our optimised diagnostic to more men with this insidious disease around the world,” Clarity executive chair Dr Alan Taylor said.
