The news: Uranium miner Deep Yellow has announced that its incoming chief executive Greg Field will start next month, three months earlier than planned.
The context: Deep Yellow announced the appointment of former Rio Tinto executive Field last month, with his start date slated for "no later" than 1 May. He will now commence on 2 February.
The miner confirmed the departure of long-serving managing director and CEO John Borshoff in November.
What they said: "The board is pleased to have Greg start earlier in the role," said executive chair Chris Salisbury.
"I would also like to thank Mr Craig Barnes who has done an outstanding job as Acting CEO during the leadership transition. Craig will return to his substantive role of CFO once Greg has commenced."
