DigiCo receives planning approval for SYD1 data centre expansion
The news: HMC Capital's DigiCo Infrastructure REIT has received State Significant Development (SSD) approval for its SYD1 data centre expansion project in central in Sydney.
The context: The data centre operator said in October that it will accelerate the expansion of its flagship SYD1 data centre following a string of new customer wins.
What they said: "We welcome the SSD approval which represents an important milestone in the densification and optimisation program to upgrade capacity at DigiCo's SYD1 data centre to 88MW," said new CEO Michael Juniper.
"Our upgrade works are proceeding well, and we are excited by the outlook for SYD1 as Australia's most strategic and interconnected data centre asset, which is translating into strong tenant demand."
