Esther Perel to join HR startup Culture Amp as advisor
The news: Human resource platform Culture Amp has appointed renowned psychotherapist Esther Perel as its first external adviser.
The context: Culture Amp said Perel will help enhance its research agenda, shape the direction of its platform, and deliver insights and experiences to its customers.
Perel was first involved with the Victorian-based startup in 2019 when she was a keynote speaker at its workplace event Culture First Global. She is a psychotherapist with a specialty in modern relationships and is a New York Times bestselling author.
Perel will work with Culture Amp’s team of people scientists and its database of more than 1.3 billion data points to help inform her work.
In September 2023, Culture Amp chief people officer Justin Angsuwat said the next 12 to 24 months would see an opportunity in the people and data science space, with AI being a bigger enabler than ever before.
What they said: Perel said: “I am honoured to collaborate with Culture Amp as an adviser. Their mission — to create a better world of work — has never been more critical. And together, my hope is that we will inspire meaningful change and foster healthier relationships within organisations globally.”
Culture Amp co-founder and CEO Didier Elzinga said: "We work hand in hand with thousands of leaders grappling with how to build high performance cultures that deliver impact — and what we find time and time again is that the core issues to be navigated are the relationships we have with each other in the workplace”.
