Culture Amp's HR lead on company values, perks and the talent war

Justin Angsuwat may have the hardest HR job in startups. He's responsible for the culture at the company that helps other companies with it.

In July, Justin Angsuwat took up the role as Chief People Officer at Culture Amp, a software business that helps companies measure employee engagement to help identify issues and take action.

I put it to Angsuwat that he has one of the hardest HR jobs in the country. I know because I was part of the founding team at Culture Amp. Think about it: he is accountable for exactly the thing that other companies are using Culture Amp for.

“We are our own customer zero,” admits Angsuwat, but he’s excited to be doing HR at an HR Tech company.

Angsuwat has an unusual background for someone with his title. “I graduated with a bachelor of computer science, so I have a CS background, but I was always fascinated by the world of humans because it was so unpredictable compared to the world of computer science,” he says.
