Impulse Space raises USD500 million in Series D funding
The news: Impulse Space, a startup backed by billionaire Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, has raised USD500 million in Series D funding, the company has announced.
The numbers: The funding round values the company at USD4.26 billion, according to sources cited by Bloomberg.
The funding round brings the company’s total capital raised to over USD1 billion, the company said in a statement.
The context: The funding round was co-led by 137 Ventures and Banner VC.
The company said the funding will “support hiring and manufacturing growth”, as the company scales its efforts to build propulsion systems that govern spacecraft movements after launch.
