IPH appoints ex-Telstra, PwC exec Anthony O’Malley as new CEO

The news: Intellectual property services group IPH has appointed former PwC and Telstra executive Anthony O’Malley as its new managing director and CEO, effective 1 July, to succeed Andrew Blattman following his retirement announcement last year.

The context: Prior to his appointment, O’Malley held senior executive roles including global legal business solutions leader at PwC, managing partner at King & Wood Mallesons, and deputy general counsel and regulatory council at Telstra.

The company said that he brings extensive experience working across professional services firms and technology-enabled service delivery, including the deployment of generative AI platforms within PwC’s legal business.
