Kelsian Group secures WA bus contract renewal worth $100m
The news: Kelsian Group's subsidiary Swan Transit has renewed its bus services contract with the Western Australian government, worth around $100 million in contracted revenue over the 10-year term.
The numbers: The renewed contract with WA's Public Transport Authority is for operation and maintenance of government-owned assets including approximately 72 buses and two depots staffed by around 100 employees.
The context: Swan Transit won a competitive tender process for the contract, which will see it continue to operate bus services in the Bunbury and Busselton regions of WA. The Kelsian subsidiary has been operating those services since 2015.
Kelsian Group, formerly SeaLink Travel Group, operates transport services in Australia, the USA, UK, Singapore and the Channel Islands.
What they said: "This contract renewal is a testament to our service delivery model, providing exceptional public transport services and reflects the excellent work of our team whose commitment to operational excellence delivers great outcomes for our stakeholders," Kelsian's outgoing CEO and managing director Clint Feuerherdt said.
"Renewing these contracts reinforces our market position and improves the predictability of our revenue."
