Neuren Pharmaceuticals FY profit falls to $30m despite Daybue sales

The news: Neuren Pharmaceuticals reported full-year net profit fell to $30 million, from $142 million a year earlier, despite a $65 million royalty income from its Rett syndrome treatment Daybue during the period.

The numbers: Net sales from Daybue rose 12% to USD391 million ($548.8 million). Interest income came in at $12 million, from $11 million a year ago.

Research and development costs increased to $36 million driven by the Phelan-McDermid syndrome phase 3 trial.

The company did not declare a dividend.

The context: CEO Jon Pilcher said the commencement of the Koala Phase 3 clinical trial of NNZ-2591 in Phelan-McDermid Syndrome marked a key milestone for the company during the period, alongside the recent launch of Daybue.

Neuren Pharmaceuticals has set guidance for its partner Arcadia net sales of between of USD460 million and USD490 million, implying royalty income to Neuren of between $70 million and $77 million for FY26.
