Orica appoints outgoing Boral CEO Vik Bansal as chair elect

The news: Chemicals and explosives maker Orica has appointed Boral's outgoing chief executive Vik Bansal as a non-executive director and chair elect.
The numbers: Bansal will join the board on 15 August and offer himself for election as a director at the company's annual general meeting in December.
Current chair Malcolm Broomhead, whose departure was announced in December, has been in the role since 2016, having led the company as managing director and CEO between 2001 and 2005.
The context: Bansal has led construction giant Boral since 2022, having served as CEO of InfraBuild and Cleanaway before that.
Last week, it was announced that he will leave Boral in early 2026 and join the board of parent company Seven Group Holdings. Bansal is also chair of cement manufacturer Sunstate Cement and landfill gas management business LGI, and was appointed to the board of logistics provider Brambles earlier this year.
