The news: Australia-based women’s health company Ovum AI has received $4 million in seed funding led by Admiralty Capital Group, tripling the company’s valuation after securing $1.7 million in a pre-seed round a year earlier.

The context: Founded by Dr Ariella Heffernan-Marks and launched in 2025, Ovum AI is an AI-embedded platform that helps women store crucial health metrics from lifestyle and reproductive health to medical reports into one longitudinal profile. The app generates comprehensive health summaries and appointment-ready questions.

The company said the funding will be used to support team growth and expand its health data set to improve AI infrastructure for women’s health.

Ovum has achieved 30% month-on-month growth, surpassing 20,000 downloads and has established partnerships with Medibank, Fernwood Fitness, Sweat, Menopause Friendly Australia and Red Cross Lifeblood.

What they said: “For too long, women have had to navigate healthcare systems that were not designed around their lived experiences or backed by sufficient female health data,” Marks said.

“Ovum exists to help women better understand their bodies, advocate for themselves with confidence, and contribute to research that improves care for future generations,” she added.
