RBA’s new general counsel Martin Thomas moves from CBA
The news: The Reserve Bank of Australia has appointed Martin Thomas as its next general counsel. He will commence on 10 November and is moving from Commonwealth Bank.
The context: Thomas has been Commonwealth Bank’s executive general manager and general counsel, customer services legal since March 2021.
Prior to that he spent nearly three years as NAB’s executive, general counsel, corporate and institutional banking and more than 15 years at Deutsche Bank, including time as co-head global markets legal, APAC.
