Roller raises US$50m in round led by Insight Partners

The news: Melbourne-based venue management platform Roller has raised USD50 million ($78.6 million) in a funding round led by tech-focused US venture capital and private equity firm Insight Partners.

The numbers: Roller has more than 1500 venues across 30 countries using its cloud-based platform, which provides services including ticketing, point-of-sale, integrated payments, CRM, memberships, gift cards, waivers and cashless wallets. The startup has boosted revenue more than five-fold in three years, according to a Roller media release.

The context: Insight Partners managing director Rachel Geller will join the Roller board as part of the raising, which is still subject to approval by the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board. Acadian Software, RBC Capital Markets and SBA Law were also involved as advisors or investors on the funding round.
