SGH names John Gillam as new chairman

The news: SGH has announced the appointment of its new non-executive director and chairman John Gillam, effective 1 February 2026, after Terry Davis announced his retirement earlier this year.

The context: Gillam has been named the chair-elect of Kerry Stokes’ diversified operating business SGH after succeeding Terry Davis, who announced his retirement following 16 years of service in the business.

Gillam has extensive board leadership experience and has been chairman of Lendlease Group since 2024, after previously serving as chairman of CSR Limited and Bluefit. He was also chief executive of Bunnings Group for 12 years.
