The news: Shares in Telix Pharmaceutical climbed in morning trade after the company reported positive results from a global phase 3 trial of its advanced prostate cancer treatment, TLX591.

Shares surged 7.06% to $10.92 at 12:21pm AEDT.

The context: Telix said the positive results from the trial were based on no adverse drug reaction observed, with a tolerability profile supported by low-grade non-haematologic events and findings consistent with prior clinical studies.

The company said it has progressed the study further and is awaiting approval from the US food and drug administration to submit an investigational new drug amendment for TLX591.

What they said: "Despite advances in clinical practice, men with advanced prostate cancer still need improved first and second line treatment options,” Telix Group chief medical officer David Cade said.

“These results build on prior findings and highlight the potential for TLX591 in combination with contemporary standard of care, to become a new first-line option for patients facing this aggressive disease.”
