Speculation has been rife for weeks over when Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will announce his first ministerial reshuffle.
Multiple senior Labor sources tell Capital Brief they are now expecting Albanese to make the announcement on Sunday. The sources cautioned that this could change if events dictate.
The timing of the announcement will suit the government considering it will likely be drowned out by the opening ceremony for the Paris Olympics on Saturday morning Australian time, along with the ongoing fallout from Joe Biden’s exit from the US presidential race.
This is not a reshuffle the government will want promoted far and wide.
