As former King & Wood Mallesons boss Sue Kench signed on with professional services giant EY this week, it begged the question: why hasn’t KWM filled her old job as global chief executive partner (CEP)?
EY announced in London that Kench would become its new global independent non-executive (INE), effectively making her its ethics watchdog in Asia.
Kench, who lives in Hong Kong, finished up as KWM’s global CEP at the end of 2024. She retired from the firm on 30 June.
When the Financial Review asked at the time about a new global CEP, it was told the position was “under review”.
