1Breadcrumb acquires SignOnSite in major construction software shake-up
The deal brings together two major construction tech platforms, aiming to boost safety, efficiency and expand into the US, UK and beyond.
After four years of direct competition in Australia’s construction safety software market, the younger 1Breadcrumb has acquired its more established rival, SignOnSite, in a strategic move aimed at creating a global leader in construction technology.
Founded in 2020, 1Breadcrumb has rapidly grown into a significant player in the construction safety software sector. SignOnSite, established in 2013, has built a decade-long presence in the market. The acquisition expands 1Breadcrumb’s team from about 48 to 64 employees, with most of SignOnSite’s 16-person team joining the combined company.
"We were direct competitors right up till the end," said Alexandria Garlan, former CEO of SignOnSite. "We were selling into the same deals right up until the day that we were like, 'okay, not anymore.'"
The deal brings together two of the most recognised technology names in commercial construction, creating a combined client base of 900 companies using the software to improve worksite safety and operational efficiency across Australia and New Zealand.
