Airtree 'in dialogue' with Employment Hero over internal culture concerns
The venture capital firm is an Employment Hero shareholder and has raised concerns following a wave of allegations from former staff about "shoddy HR practices".
Prominent investment firm Airtree Ventures has raised concerns with Employment Hero about its internal culture following an avalanche of claims from former staff about its work practices, approach to diversity and high performance mantra.
After revealing Employment Hero cancelled an International Women's Day initiative on concerns it violated its "apolitical" internal mantra Capital Brief this week was contacted by several former employees who, among other things, accused the company operating a "vile workplace" with "shoddy HR practices" and a "fear culture".
Capital Brief does not suggest the claims made by the former employees are true or that Employment Hero's management is at fault, only that the complaints were made.
Airtree, one of the country's biggest VC firms with $1 billion under management, was one of Employment Hero's earliest investors after leading a 2016 funding round.
