Blackbird Ventures, Australia's most successful venture capital firm, has quietly started gathering commitments from international and domestic institutional investors for its sixth fund.
Several industry sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss confidential matters, told Capital Brief Blackbird had begun laying the groundwork for its next fund and was in active talks with institutional investors over participating in it.
A Blackbird spokesperson confirmed to Capital Brief it was raising capital this year, and that it was "going well."
As recently as September last year, the company had denied it was actively in the process of raising its next fund.
