Canva CFO Damien Singh stepped down amid internal investigation

In a statement Canva said it has "a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behaviour". The Aussie unicorn is now without a CFO in the run-up to a highly anticipated IPO.

Former Canva chief financial officer Damien Singh resigned from the design software startup after the company launched an internal investigation amid concerns about alleged inappropriate behaviour.

Canva launched an investigation into Singh after an anonymous thread on an external platform raised concerns within the company. Once Singh was informed of the internal investigation he resigned immediately.

Capital Brief does not suggest that any allegations made against Singh are true, only that they were made. This publication also does not suggest that he engaged in any misconduct, only that the company launched an investigation and he resigned.

A Canva spokesperson told Capital Brief: “Creating a safe environment for everyone is our number one priority. We have a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behaviour and we’re fully committed to thoroughly investigating and actioning any instances of this.”
