Edrolo founder raises $1.9m for new AI platform tackling teacher burnout

After helping turn Edrolo into one of Australia’s biggest edtech success stories, raising $40 million along the way, Ben Sze is back with a new mission: easing teacher burnout with the help of AI.
His latest startup, Teacher’s Buddy, co-founded with Matt Abraham, has secured $1.85 million in seed funding and already counts 12,000 users across 130 countries.
The round was led by Giant Leap, with participation from Flying Fox Ventures, Co Ventures, Exhort Ventures, Saniel Ventures, and Soul Capital.
Sze stepped back from his co-CEO role at Edrolo in 2023 due to post-COVID health issues but has returned for a second act after seeing the “dire situation” facing teachers worldwide.
