Seek hits back in Employment Hero fight, implies misuse of data
A day after agreeing to keep its platform open to Employment Hero, Seek says it warned the startup about misusing its access.
Seek has accused Employment Hero of misusing data taken from its platform, leading the $8.9 billion company to block the startup's access from its API.
In an email to customers on Thursday, viewed by Capital Brief, Seek claims it "expressed concerns to Employment Hero about its practices on multiple occasions in the past" and said it would "be monitoring Employment Hero’s adherence to our terms closely".
It came after Employment Hero filed a lawsuit against Seek in Federal Court last week, alleging it was misusing its market power by blocking a smaller competitor from its platform.
Employment Hero accesses Seek's platform via an API as part of its recruitment and hiring tracking services. Seek notified Employment Hero that it was cutting the startup off at the end of June.
