Tech Council seeks new policy lead after former Turnbull and Morrison advisor resigns

The Tech Council of Australia's former head of policy has left the organisation in the wake of domestic violence charges.

The Technology Council of Australia is actively recruiting for a new Head of Policy following the resignation of former Coalition political operative Harry Godber, who has formally stepped down from the role at the lobby group in the wake of domestic violence charges.

"The TCA is looking to fill the Head of Policy role to continue driving our policy agenda and advocating on behalf of our members," a spokesperson for the lobby group said.

Godber, a former adviser to both the Turnbull and Morrison governments, was appointed to the senior role in October last year but stood aside in May following his arrest on domestic violence charges. The 30-year-old, who was bailed, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Earlier this year he said he would "vigorously" defend the charges, which he described as "incontrovertibly false". Godber didn't immediately respond to enquiries from Capital Brief.
